Even though visitors were in an art gallery, they were allowed and expected to touch and make things, more akin to a children’s museum or studio space.

I wanted to encourage gallery visitors to re-examine expectations of spaces that display art and artworks. I wanted people to ask, “Who makes art, and where is art made?”
